“We are the party of the working man…”

Sound familiar? Yes, this has been the line fed to the American public by the Democratic Party ever since the campaign of Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1932. We all know that Roosevelt came from a patrician New York family and was considered by many to be a traitor to his class, but what about the Clintons? Well, it just so happens that William Jefferson and Hillary made over $110 million in the past eight years. Not one million, not even ten million, but one hundred and ten million dollars! Now, I don’t know about you, but I certainly haven’t made one hundred and ten million in the past eight years, I haven’t even come close. In the past eight years I have made close to three quarters of a million but no where near the Clintons’ haul. Mean while, Senator Barak Obama claims that he made almost $1 million in 2006 and John McCain made $231,000. It seems to me that the Clintons and Senator Obama have very little credibility when they claim to speak for the “middle class”.  Senator McCain at least has a “middle class” income. It seems to me that the Democratic Party ought to be the party of the hypocritical, patronizing wealthy; not the party of the “working man”, as they so love to claim.
